RE: Bryce Canyon - Utah

We stayed inside the park at the NP campground and it was really nice. We had a 33 ft MH at the time but I don't recall there would be any problem getting in there with something bigger. Our spot was on the outer ring and it was a nice big spot not close to your neighbors which was nice. There are trees but not too many that you won't get satellite or have overhangin issues.
When we drove by Ruby's it was your typical RV capmpground but if you need hook ups then that is the way to go. We prefer to dry camp and be closer and in the element if it is just a few days.
We were able to hike onto a trail right from our campsite and walk to the visitor center as well which is a really nice newer visitor center by the way

RE: Going to Yellostone

two years ago we did this with Barker Ewing in Jackson. We did the breakfast run which was nice. You do half the run then stop while the guides make you an awesome breakfast and then continue on down the rapids.
They had a good organized operation from our view

RE: Planning a trip to Grand Canyon and Utah Parks!!

Our family did Zion, Bryce and Grand Canyon. All of these spots have good hiking. We stayed at the National park campgrounds within each of the parks which was the most convenient and nice settings

RE: Kings Cyn/Sequoia .....Yosemite?

I forgot to mention the campground we stayed in Sequoia was close to the visitor center but I can't remember the name off hand. It had a trail from the campground that led to the 3 famous big trees

RE: Kings Cyn/Sequoia .....Yosemite?

We went to Sequoia about 5 years ago after Labor Day (mid Sept) and the campgrounds were not busy at all. Probably only 20% full. We had d 33 ft MH at the time and a car and were able to pull in and find a nice spot no problem. Our spot would have handled longer as well.
Yosemite is much more limited in this category. I would try to actually make reservations for Yosemite. Look at this website www.yosemitecampsites.com. There are pictures of all the spots and info about them

RE: Is it safe for kids to bike in campgrounds in Yellowstone

In the Tetons there is an excellent bike path that runs for miles through the town and off the main area through the Tetons. We enjoyed it alot and it was very safe off the main road, not just a bike lane.
Yellowstone our kids rode their bikes all around the campgrounds alot. We stayed in Madison and Fishing Bridge

RE: Where to stop between CA to West Yellowstone, MT

When we did this trip we stopped in Utah at Cherry Hill campground. It is a full hook up RV park with a waterpark, pool, batting cages, miniature golf, ice cream parlor and more. The kids had a blast (ages at the time were 6 and 13. I compared this to Lagoon and felt this one had more activities and the camping was better.

RE: LA to Yellowstone

We did the same trip a couple years ago. We live in Newbury Park. Our first stop was Cedar City KOA. My husband & I were trying to remeber how long it took us to get there. We both think it was about 8 hours of driving. It was a long day but we were glad we did it because on trips like that were you just want to do a a couple one nighters to get were you are going your best off doing the longest leg on the first day.
Our second stop was in northern Utah and third stop in Jackson wyoming to visit the Tetons
Then we went into Yellowstone

RE: RV Parks near Arnold or Calervas Big Trees SP?

We visited Calaveras last summer and the gold country. We base camped at Marble Quarry Rv Park in Columbia. They have pull through spots as well as back in. They have a path from the campground that drops you right into Columbia State Historic Park which is a living history gold mining town. The drive to Calaveras from this area was about 30-45 minutes. The nice thing being closer to the gold country is that you can visit all the gold mining towns in that area... Jamestown, Railtown 1897 SHP, Sonora etc.
There is also another RV park in this area I believe called 49'ers Village?? Check www.rvparkreviews.com

RE: Rocky Mountain National Park-Colorado

We visited RMNP 2 years ago. Stayed In Morraine and there are plenty of sites large enough. We traveled in a 36 ft MH and had plenty of space the RV and Jeep. The spots around the edge that overlook the meadow are the nicest. You get to observe a herd of elk daily from your campsite. I think it is worth it to stay in the park without the hookups

RE: Redwood Coast Summer Trip 2008

I am definetly going to look at going farther up north and past Fresno. My husband and I are even discussing just going straight to Redding. We like driving the 99 instead of I5 for laung hauls for the mere fact there is stuff to look at.
Thanks for the recommendation. This is all very helpfull for me.

There is also Lake Lopez. It takes about 25 minutes to get to campus from there. They have full hook up spots.
